Yesterday evening

This was the scene in the Kitchen last night. My 10 year old built in oven has been a tad fragile of late and last night the door suddenly fell to the floor shattering into 1000 pieces. Luckily no one was hurt.Careful clearing up took ages. I have ordered a new oven today which will be fitted on Easter Eve. Needless to say the Ducal war chest has taken a battering !

  1. Ouch! Appliances do pick their moments don't they. We had an oven element that shorted out spectacularly - sparks shooting across the kitchen - while my mother in law was visiting and on December 22nd. New over arrived in time to cook the Christmas dinner.

  4. Toast. . . and cans of (cold?) ravioli. . . eaten directly from said can. Takes me right back to undergraduate days.

    Best Regards,

  5. Ouch! They have their moments. I remember as a kid when my mother's oven shorted out. There was a huge blue-white flash like a halo around the oven, a loud BANG! and we all ran outside in fear for our lives!

  6. Ouch. I assume you're eating cold food until Easter.
