Leaves on the line

The recent rain and heat has caused a problem for the workers on the Penedredfel Light Railway-

The plants growing trackside have grown to unexpected heights and vigorously in the extreme.
They will require major cutting back prior to the restoration of services on the PLR in the coming days. Weather and time permitting it is hoped to get the trains running very soon.

  2. Hi Alan,

Nature certainly takes over quickly when the rain and heat mix! It’s a very familiar battle, but hopefully, the clearing work goes smoothly so you can get the line fully operational again soon.

    Cheers, Andy

  3. Very amusing photos, Alan, and as the local Council has reduced its grass and bush cutting in my area, it looks like my neighbourhood!

  5. From what my UK friends tell me "Leaves on the line" seems to be one of the most common reasons for stoppages of railway service over there. At least, that's the impression I get.
I didn't realize how bad it could get! ;)
