Opposition for the Ottomans

The Austrian and allies on the march. Note Balkan irregular light infantry at the front .
Austrian regiments and Bavarian ones including Freikorps Prielmayer.

Cavalry with back and breast and helmets supported by hussars.
Looking forward to getting some games in soon.

  3. Excellent. Who makes the figures, in particular Balkan Light Infantry?

p.s. your battalions are a different size to Peter Young's, is this to use the grid system?

    1. Thanks. The BLI are Minifigs , a mix of syw grenz and Turks with muskets stuck on. The Bavarian infantry are by John B of saskatawan , the Austrians RSM , heavy cavalry Perry I think or Foundry and light cavalry Front Rank. Whatever was about. One base equals one Regt indeed for gridded game play.

  5. Terrific-looking force, Alan! Those Balkan irregulars at the head of the column add a great splash of regional flavour to the Allied army.

Best of luck getting them onto the tabletop for a game soon!

    All the best, Andy

    1. David Morfit did these splendid flags on his blog. I particularly like the earlier pre Seven Years War Austrian ones. Flags from here

    1. Absolutely re flags. Possibly a tad oversized but l like them that way, as it adds to the drama.
