The idea was to rebuild an army that I had in the day - and I just got into the habit of buying up models - and before I knew it I had 13 Ringwraiths on flying beasties! Some are harder to get than others - I found the Harad and Southron infantry fairly uncommon, and the cavalry both uncommon and usually broken. I'm 'restoring' some Harad cavalry lancers at the moment.
Rick Priestleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18237250362944231092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798056059089761235.post-22271842483487679632019-09-27T07:36:09.787+01:002019-09-27T07:36:09.787+01:00Basing, perennial dilemma. Looks like quite an army! Nice work!

I've been dithering about basing for ages. Most of my minis are on various individual plastic bases. Lately I've been using round bases, but many of my earlier figures are on square bases (just because that's what they came with back in the day). I do like the idea of multi-figure stands for battle games, but I tried removing some minis from their plastic stands in order to affix them directly to small plywood bases. But then you have to decided whether to try to blend them in and texture/flock or pin them to the base or what. And how to get texture and/or paint between them. The other thing I tried was just to glue them with their individual plastic bases onto the plywood bases. That's less work, but is it even worth it? Or should I go for some sort of movement trays (with magnets? as many of my miniatures are also based on washers). Hence, dithering. ha haFitz-Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510866929782142007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798056059089761235.post-9298350015567563512019-09-26T23:53:40.739+01:002019-09-26T23:53:40.739+01:00A beautiful array of old school goodness, lovely c...A beautiful array of old school goodness, lovely collection.Sprinkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00917246639433391220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798056059089761235.post-13543172984685931002019-09-26T21:33:25.681+01:002019-09-26T21:33:25.681+01:00Very impressive...
