Folly
Have just spent ages trying to paint Holger Eriksson Danish guardsmen- results are awful! Must be too tired - should have listen to Stokes in the CWJ...
I know exactly what you mean, and Stokes S is right! One would think that painting little men would need little in the way of an awake brain - but it does! I know you are all things Danish fan. Ditto - and on a couple of trips to see friends there I have bought some of the 54mm chaps thyat are widely available - I'll try to post a photo here. Oh, and there are the fantastic TripTrap Danish houses and buildings. Oh, I can't do the photos - I'll e-mail them to you!
Yeah, sometimes I find I can't seem to get the paint laid down well. When that happens I usually switch to doing something else, like prepping other figures, maybe basecoating some that have been prepped, working on terrain (or going to bed if it's late! ha ha)
Speaking of Danes and 19th century, today at the bookstore I picked up a new book, An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Military Unifroms of the 19th Century. Lots of colorful unifroms, even some Danish ones from the Prussian-Danish wars over Schleswig-Holstein. I'll write up more about the book and post it on my Soweiter League blog.
