A trick of the tail

The newly arrived frei-korps from Wittenburg are drilling in the grounds of the new Duke's country estate in Tradgardland. The men are far from home, eager for plunder and a little bored...
Their long suffering officer ( a former school teacher who embraced his new life with great gusto when he walked away from the village school to make his fortune- still waiting) suddenly sees something moving in the woods. He points, the men go silent and all stare...
Their eyes alight upon a strange figure half goat, half man dancing to his own music. His horned head turns to look at them...
The figure turns and dances off into the forest without a word. The soldiers stunned and amazed follow a respectful distance behind...

  2. Very Arcadian, the Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Lets hope the troops don't pan-ic and cause pan-demonium. Looking forward to the outcome.

  4. 'A former school teacher seeking his fortune?' Alter ego? Yours, a former school master.

Good to see the curly headed one on your blog too - he gets everywhere!
