The Knick
I have been interested in history for as long as I can remember. I lapped up Ladybird books as a child. As a teacher one of my most memorable times was a week's placement at the Surgeon's Hall museum in Edinburgh. For me it was a fascinating time - from meeting surgeons to thumbing through medieval books in the library and much more beside. It fed my interest in the history of medicine and surgery, something which I continue to enjoy reading about.

Hmmm...historical medical drama. Now that sounds like something both Mrs. Kinch and I might enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAh - Ladybird Books - "Romans in Britain" - my earliest book, I still remember it fondly.

ReplyDeleteI understand that the RCS Museum in Edinburgh has been refurbished and open to the public again
You might find continuing interest there.

I don't think I would visit as I saw so many things behind the scenes when I worked in the Faculty of Medicine many years ago.
We get that show on cable here in Canada, I am tempted and have even taped a few shows but haven't had time to watch one yet. Now I'm more likely to.
