At Firely Church

Returning from the camp on Hounslow Heath  , King James ll of Albion stops at Firely church to rest and pray. He still wears the armour he wore when he rode at the head of his army. Londoners had come to the heath to view the spectacle and had cheered elevating the day for all concerned.
The camp had lasted eight weeks and the King knew that troubled times lay ahead. The London Gazette reported deserters and an award of 40s for anyone who gives notice of them to my Lord Grandisons in Petty- France was offered. Hopefully things would change soon...

  1. You bought the figure then! Very nice. Alexanders Toy Soldiers have some James II figures. Prince August as well (very expensive). You could use Tehnolog Peter the Great Russians and change the hats.

  2. Tradition of London do a 54mm range of toy soldiers and separately military miniatures - ranging through different eras. Expensive metal unpainted castings but good for character figures. https://www.traditionoflondonshop.com/en/Toy_Soldiers_54mm_Unpainted/English_Civil_War_1642-1651
