I didn’t get round to playing the Tradgardistan game yesterday with one thing and another. I did take the opportunity to assemble fellows from Replica metal soldiers -
Who do you think they are and who will be their allies? Clues are in my labels at the bottom of the post.
British / Canadians? Alaskans? Stirring poses. The bayonet duelling one looks straight out of the Russo Japanese War pages of Preben Kannik's Military Uniform of The World.
ReplyDeleteDynamic poses indeed, I like these figures as a change from most of my other 54mm figures. They are from the North West of Maple Leaf Country where the Rusland Empire has forts, trading stations and a strong presence.
DeleteNice figures - did you just put the arms on or are there head variants as well?
ReplyDeleteThe heads came separately, some figures had one cast on arm to which I added a sword arm or rifle at trail arm. Other came with the two arms and rifle as one piece to be fixed to two locating pins at the shoulder.
DeleteInteresting looking figures.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Old fashioned toy soldiers and all the better for it.

ReplyDeleteAllies, hmm hard to see the 1st nations allying with such folk but I suppose "the enemy of my enemy"allies though there are also the boys in blue.
Ruslanders indeed. As for allies we shall see...

ReplyDeleteIs it this curious Russian incursion into near Albion Maple Leaf territory? https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/russians-establish-fort-ross
ReplyDeleteRuslander incursions indeed.

Are the Russians going to invade Hawaii again and build Star Forts ?
Are they going to invade New Zealand in the 1870s? https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2018/12/09/man-of-tin-advent-calendar-day-9-the-russians-are-coming-1873-new-zealand-hoax/
The History of Rusland and Maple Leaf Country is almost as fascinating at the real presence of Russia in what we know as Canada & America. The Rusland presence gives lots of gaming possibilities and potentialities.
DeleteI am interested in the First Nations of the area and intereactions of Orthodoxy with them too. Thanks for the links ,most useful.
