These work really well for Wellsian Games. Larger buildings - intriguing. Pub. Church. Town Hall. Are you building Trumpton, Chigley or Camberwick Green? The 54mm Paperboys Little Wars section has some 54mm houses and buildings for further inspiration. Is that the Matthew Rice book on British buildings?
Scouting potential too. Re bigger buildings I am intrigued by Groombridge Place and similar buildings... Well spotted re the Rice book. A lovely book and one that gives me inspiration.
You can never have to much real estate in your portfolio. Cheers Greg p.s. I see you have Babylon Berlin on your reading lists - have to read any more of Kutscher's books? I think there are now at least 4 that have been translated.
I have read more, really enjoying the tv adaptation and it’s attention to detail in the recreation of the period visually. I have the fourth novel on my paper pile but currently can’t seem to get into novels for some reason.
Very relaxing bit of Art Therapy! They go well with the 54mm figures.
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed and I think that toy soldier style figures need buildings to match.
DeleteThe thatch works really well, looks like you've been making the most of the good weather.
ReplyDeleteI was very pleased with the thatch. Heavy rain came later that day ( but the garden needed it) and the weather has been mixed since.
DeleteNice traditional Toy Buildings especially well suited to your 54mm Guards. Well done there Alan. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev!

Yes, lovely structures. Little Wars came immediately to mind.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,

Thanks , the therapy aspect worked really well too.
DeleteNeat little buildings
ReplyDeleteCheers.
DeleteTradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteVery simple and effective. I particularly like the way you have done the windows.
All the best,
Bob
This was the first time I had tried windows in this style and I was pleased with the result. It would work really well on smaller scale ones too.

DeleteThey look Good!
ReplyDeleteThose look great! Very fitting with sort of old school minis, too.
ReplyDeleteOld school Miniatures deserve similar scenery I think. It was absorbing and enjoyable and that was so important too.
DeleteLovely work Alan and how good to see you out working in your garden!
