For the first time I have put out all ( or nearly all as some are under repair like Shelob or awaiting painting) my Mythical Earth baddies on parade together. One thing that I notice particularly is the lack of uniformity in basing, something that will need to be remedied one day. Anyway I hope you enjoy this self indulgent wallowing in old school lead.
A trip down memory lane... as it were. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteMemories indeed!
DeleteWonderful stuff! I like your Oliphant - the Harad figures were really nice.
ReplyDeleteOliphant works well, I know what you mean re Harad figures.
DeleteWonderful! I had a Mythical Earth collection when I was at school in the 1970s-thanks for the nostalgia kick!
ReplyDeleteMe too re school. I took my Mythical Earth to my friends for a game and he brought round his Napoleonic Naval ships to mine. Carried my figures in a couple of shirt boxes.
DeleteA fine collection of classic figures .
ReplyDeleteThanks, Classic indeed.
DeleteGreat to see these again - where fantasy gaming all started for many of us.
ReplyDeleteThanks, so true re fantasy gaming.
DeleteTradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteIt’s a very impressive collection!
All the best,
Bob
Thanks.
DeleteCompletely love these figures. Many thanks for putting on a review.
ReplyDeleteMust get the good guys out very soon for their review.
DeleteThat is a Horde of nostalgic splendour.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful turn of phrase!
DeleteHi Alan-yes, great to have this collection of Middle Earth original figures- it'l be a huge job to re-base them all the same bases. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteMaybe leave the basing, we’ll see.
DeleteCool! LOTR/Middle Earth is always good in my book.
ReplyDeleteI have too many minis with different basing (plastic bases, washers, round, square, oblong, rectangular, static grass, sand, sawdust, flowers, different colors around the edges, etc., and even a few multi-based).
Sometimes I crave uniformity but I will see...
DeleteAre you going to mass base the individual ones or penny tuppenny base the mass base ones for flexibility and use a 1p 2p movement tray from warbases? Decisions, decisions ...
ReplyDeleteReally can’t make up my mind. Also whether to go for plain old school basing or fancy static grass and tufts look. I will not make rash decisions but will ponder.
