Ann Elk and reindeer on the painting table...
Working on some North Star beasts today-
They are lovely 28mm scale models but I found the antlers a tad difficult to glue on. Probably my cack handedness rather than the glue. Note “uniform “ painting reference in use.
I appreciate the Monty Python reference! You could always leave the antlers off as Moose (European Elk are the same as North American Moose) they do loose them each fall after rutting season. This feature plays a key role in Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose.
Elk are my favourite animal and my middle daughter has a soft one called Elkie. I don’t know the Thidwick story but I will look it up. A plan re post rutting season. Glad you liked the Monty Python reference.
As if to illustrate Peter’s point, if you turn that map of the range of the Eurasian Elk on its side (east at the bottom) it looks like an elk’s head without its antlers.
For gluing such things I have found super glue and baking soda can work wonders. Super glue the item in place and hold it there while you sprinkle some baking soda on. It makes the super glue cure fast and hold well, in my experience. Either way, it's always good to have more livestock.

Fascinating, I must give it a go. I agree re livestock, adds something to a game be it farm animals in a village or a wolf in the forest.
