Grey Herald modern infantry in grey?
Someone recently mentioned that Britains released their Modern infantry painted grey or moulded in grey plastic as the enemy. Has anyone got any photos of these as they were released or further information?
These are not as grey as I expected but here Barney Brown Herald Toys web shop Archive http://www.heraldtoysandmodels.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?&products_id=2823
Hugh at Small scale world blog has a section on Herald and enemy troops. Andrew Rose in his Toy Soldiers book (well illustrated and worth buying) shows them and they are definitely more grey with dark green helmets and webbing.
Some info here;

I have photographed two pages from "The Great Book of Britains", the year 1959 pages, but I don't know how to attach them to this message.
ReplyDeleteI can’t think of how you could attach them to a comment, can anyone help? Only way I can think of is email or posting on your blog.

Not as grey as I had expected either. Good dark helmets though for distinguishing the enemy. Thanks everyone for your efforts with this one.
