Not feeling 100% today so taking it easy. Listening to Henry Hyde podcasts, flipping through books , sorting stuff , dozing and thinking. I decided to see what I had in the way of Roco Minitanks. I had looked out a few for my ohw try out the other day and decided to check the rest in the box. Including some assorted made kits l have a fair bit. Later reading the Grant books I wondered about the possibility of seeing where the armies of Charles Grant and Peter Young would be in the 1930s. Also tapped into the early Airfix Germans I looked out. They are some of my favourite all time figures. So here are the pictures from the sorting and thinking...
Your surviving tank park is stronger than mine.
ReplyDeleteI have about 7 or 8 German kit or preformed Airfix tanks, 2 T34s and a handful of Atlantic and Airfix hard plastic Shermans and DUKWs ...
Not fussed - too many tanks changes an infantry game anyway.
Sounds full of gaming potential for you. Agree re infantry game.
DeleteAlan,
ReplyDeleteYour mystery Roco vehicles are Faun L912 10 ton ammo trucks, post-war Bundeswehr; unless in the spirit of early Roco wargaming you are not unduly bothered about date, later than your WW2 stuff.
I've often toyed with taking Soldier King into the 1920s and 1930s.....
Neil
Thanks for identifying them! I think I will be able to use them.
DeleteAlan, I have a small box to send you, with a 'flat' cannon. There is also some military ww2 wheels more suited for 20mm models, this post has just confirmed they might have value to you, fixed to bonnets etc. (Very pleased with those 54mm Arabs you kindly sent!)
ReplyDeleteMichael
Most kind! Glad the Arabs were uselful
DeleteTradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice collection of ROCO stuff there! Certainly enough for a couple of small imagi-nation armies. Are you going to create 1930s version of the Grand Duchy of Lorraine and Die Vereinigte Freie Städte?
All the best,
Bob
That is one of the current plans Bob, still at the development stage,..
DeleteSplendid collection of vintage vehicles, Your Grace. I love the idea of taking Grant and Young into the interwar period, terrific idea.
ReplyDeleteHope you are back to 100% soon.
I can’t complain, my side effects were minuscule. I am enjoying the thinking about where to take Grant and Young...
