Further Flat Friday: a question of scale.

Took these photos of the figures from the previous post along with a Dinky tank and a Skybirds one. I think they work together well for use in the Portable Wargame on a grid  even though they are different scale. Any thoughts?

  1. The tanks and figures could work together as Italian troops with their tankettes in Abbyssinia in 1935. The Schneider African natives could work as the opposition. Have fun!

  2. The different scales give a perfect period flavour.

  3. Rather traditional for toy soldiers to have underscale tanks.

    1. And once you go to a slightly abstract toy soldier “look” anyway, there are typically good wargaming ground scale/troop scale issues which would make reduced size vehicles sensible.

  5. Nothing wrong with these - fact is, when you look at pictures of actual people next to early tanks/armoured cars, the real thing often look wrong as regards scale!
