Morning, I just wanted to say I am having problems leaving comments on other people’s blogs as well as replying to comments on mine. It is not that I am not interested in what you comment or blog but I am beset by yet another technical issue. Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly…
I think you are not alone, they have made an 'upgrade' it seems 😀..let's see if this works (using an Android tablet )
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if Google browsers e.g. Chrome will cope ok with the change ( since blogger is Google product too ) but maybe others ( e.g. Edge, Firefox ) not updated yet? Also the 'anon' thing might be if you are not logged in to a Google ID. All this is pure speculation, though 😀
DeleteA bit of an update: On my PC with Firefox, I found I couldn't enter comments on my own blog except as 'anonymous'. It said "Comment with your Google Account if you’d like to be able to manage your comments in the future. If you comment anonymously, you won’t be able to edit or delete your comment." But it didn't show my google account as an option. There was however a 'Learn more' page which then said "Blogger uses third-party cookies so you can comment from your Google Account. If third-party cookies are disabled on your browser, you may not be able to comment on blog posts while you’re signed in. You can still comment anonymously, or with a name and URL."
DeleteSo then with a bit of looking around on the security settings of the browser, and I found the following "If a site seems broken, try turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection. It allows trackers to load on that site only. Enhanced Tracking Protection will continue to block trackers on other sites". so I tried switching off that tracking on my blogger page, and it now allows me to comment as normal - fingers crossed. I wonder if you might find some some similar settings on your devices?
I haven't been able to comment for over a fortnight. Perhaps this is the time?
ReplyDeleteIt is, but I am anon.
ReplyDeleteI am beset with similar troubles on both of my PCs but am OK on my Kindle.
ReplyDeleteI am Jim Duncan and not ANONYMOUS.
DeleteAccording to my techy daughter it is probably a browser issue and I should use something other than MS Edge.
DeleteHave seen several others report similar issues although I have not had any so far, touch wood!
ReplyDeleteI could only imagine the frustration...

Same here Alan. Chris/Nundanket
ReplyDeleteI’ve been having the same issue, blogger won’t allow me to sign in to comment. It’s really annoying.

It is so annoying, I can’t seem to sort it , Alan
ReplyDeleteThis seems to happen fairly randomly for me...it'll be fine, then I can't leave comments for a day or 2, and then it's OK again. Very odd, and very annoying!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's posted this as 'Anonymous' for some reason
