From Mexico to Walmington on Sea

Decided to use these battered veteran Britains Mexicans as Home Guard. Fitted with suitable period heads they make fine volunteers awaiting uniforms. Might or might not give them “LDV” armbands, we’ll see. Looking forward to painting them in grey, brown or black suits.

They are welcomed by a young and enthusiastic member of the platoon.

  1. Inspired - good call. With a non-specific arm band in civvies they could be early LDV or any typ or militia, VBCW, guerillas, revolutionaries.

    1. Thanks. It just sort of came to me as an idea and I am pleased with the results so far. Lots of different uses for them…

  3. I like that particular figure and what a great idea you have for its use! There are plenty of civilian figures you could use also. I love the scarf! What did you make it from?

  4. I have a few Britains civilian conversions already based on Railway workers etc. The scarf is just paper, painted.
