  1. An early delivery. A good buy. Enjoy. Number 57 is quite something. Numbers 84, 89-92 and 98-100 - I painted them all on Minifigs in Humbrol Gloss almost 50 years ago - they are on duty at my brother's now

    1. It was indeed and he came back later.
57 is a cool uniform but I always preferred the goat-bagpipes player. Excellent that your figures are still in use after all these years. It must be fun to have other wargamers in the family.

    1. It certainly was, well, well worth the money paid. I fear some Blandford hunting coming on …

  4. Ah, good old Blandford. Lots of nostalgia for those books. Especially the SYW one.

  5. A book which was a huge boost to my wargaming. The only book of which I have two copies!

  6. Back / Ready for your desert island five? A great one / game to work out on each pair of pages, if you had to wear one uniforms from each two pages or chapter / conflict / centrury / the whole book which would it be? Or the alternative, which would you least like to have to wear ....

  8. What a coincidence... I also have a copy of this on the way, along with the Blandford Warriors and Weapons book. Both mainly acquired for the sheer nostalgia value!

  9. Ah - a wonderful book. It was the first expensive uniform book I bought as a teenager. It was 1970 and it cost the huge sum of 30 shillings. It is sitting on the desk beside me as I write here. A school friend and I both bought copies at the same time. Sadly he died aged 40 but the book often makes me think of him.
