A question for the railway buffs
Bid on eBay, was beaten for the railbus but won these. I don’t quite understand what l bought . Why do these wagons have an engine? I am a novice.
Also a novice, but it looks like a tram engine to me. I only say that because it looks a bit like Thomas’ friend Toby the Tram Engine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tram_engine Chris/Nundanket

Would guess it is some sort of repair /works inspection truck ?
ReplyDeleteIndeed, quite probably, the PLR is a strange place .

Looks like some kind of improvised trolley for parcel goods or maintenance. Nice haul!
ReplyDeleteJust the thing for the PLR, a rather obscure and quiet corner of the railway network.

I've no idea what it is but it does look like a fun buy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I thought it was fun too.

From a curious archivist: might this be a "speeder"? Try this site:https://www.american-rails.com/speeders.html
