Dalauppror asked (amongst others) that I post a photo of the raised beds when they were planted up.Here they are this week-
Despite the high winds of the other day the Duchy of Tradgardland plaque is now in place-
All neat and tidy! The picnic table looks perfect for sitting and surveying all your hard work.
We're experimenting with raised beds this year, using a method that doesn't confine the beds within boards or bricks. It works - up to a point - but we find weed invasion along the edges is a pain to deal with. Maybe next year we'll use boards or bricks.
Thanks to you all for your kind comments.Jan is the one with the vision,flair and creative input- not to mention ongoing hard work.I do the grass and heavier work and chip in ideas and enthusiasms. The companion planting is some Tagetes which we can't recall and AJ do give boarded raised beds a go - they work well , can be made cheaply or bought.
