ReplyDeleteThe only thing that has ever seemed to make sense to me in these situations is the knowledge that what you loved remains in your heart. My sympathies.

ReplyDeleteI feel this more than most because I am sort of in Jan's position. I also have a cancer, which has now metastasized into my lungs and the chemo doesn't seem to be doing any good. I certainly expect to last a while yet but I do understand that my time will be limited.
Alan, it is important for you and your family to embrace the fact that life does go on.

I am immensely saddened to come across this news - (though I am a complete stranger) the loss of any love diminishes the world. And one that endured so long...
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I have been married 30 years and I will now go and give her a squeeze. She may wonder why but I am sure you will know. Stay strong.
