Reinforcements

I decided to paint up these 40mm knights as reinforcements for my medieval Scandinavians yesterday. I had got them very cheaply some time ago. They painted up well and I look forward to using them in a game-
One of my reference books suggestions Scandinavian armour styles were a tad behind the times compared to the latest knightly fashions. I am using this as an excuse to mix different styles and times in my units. After all they are cheap ,cheerful and fun.

  1. You might also like the 'Tube' knights sold via Amazon. Nominally 40mm, you get about 24 different figures per tube on foot and horseback along with an undersized dragon and catapult. Admittedly, they seem to look like late-medieival French or English knights, say ca. 1400, but no painting necessary, they're ready to go right out of the plastic tube.

    Best Regards,

    1. Strangely I saw them on Amazon yesterday but they were out of stock.

  2. Good work. We had a bag of these but the plastic was very brittle and they crumbled pdq, perhaps a bad batch. Have a look at the film "The Last King" for Norwegian medieval fun.

    1. Most unfortunate for you, mine were hard plastic and took acrylic paints with no prior preparation. I have watched The Last King and really enjoyed it. I liked the ski chases.

    1. I think I got them for around £3 ,such good value and great fun. I really like some of the strange poses and out of scale weaponry.

  5. I think the £1 online poundshop.com versions is a small pack £1 although there is a delivery charge :( compared to the bigger pack that you and I have. They did well for my Battle of Hastings blogpost on a budget.
There is also this fun looking bigger £11 set https://www.amazon.co.uk/FomCcu-Soldiers-Medieval-Knights-Warriors/
