Projects

A couple of photos on things l am working on ...
Homecasts bought via eBay,very heavy and quite basic figures but charming too. I have painted  them as a Homeguard platoon. There are more similar figures and other in action poses in tin helmets to be painted. Figures are 54mm.
Below are some Chintoys conquistadors with a Del Prado mounted figure. Again 54mm l have used cheap coasters to base them on. I hope to use them with Irregular wars, conflict at the World’s end rules.

  1. Nice looking projects Tradgardmastare. I think I had one of those knights with the big axe as a child. Good use of coaters too.

    1. Did you have the king with the raised sword too by any chance? I called mine King Arthur surprise, surprise. The owners of the local shop were really patient with me as l took ages deciding which figure to buy with my pocket money.

    2. Yes!! I did have the King! I know what you mean about King Arthur too. Oh I meant coasters by the way - shocking typing, probably had the wrong glasses on again...

  2. Very nice., Del Prado figures are really good and work well with other ranges.

    1. And they are often available very reasonably on eBay.

  3. Charming home casts - they work very well as a Home Guard Platoon. I'm not sure that (Airfix?) German Paratroops landing on Scottish or Cornish soil are ready for this determined bunch of old sweats and crack 'parashots' as the Home Guard were first nicknamed.

    1. I would like to track down some home cast German paratroopers or other infantry but will probably settle for Airfix ones l have.

    2. Very few German WW2 homecast figures around - only one vintage American metal mould that I know of which I don't have.
The Airfix figures marching and officer etc have a toy soldierness to them if you paint them in gloss style. https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2019/03/24/peter-laing-15mm-and-airfix-54mm-german-paratroops/

    3. I will have a look on eBay. I have about six old metal Britains ww2 Germans with sloped rifle but toy soldier style Airfix painting sounds a plan.
