I used their paper dropping idea then improvised some other rules- ( apologies for typo in photo,it should have read game not cane)
And that’s where we are so far.Next I want to look at dicing for the arrival of a Homeguard patrol on the table and rules for them spotting the enemy. As ever your ideas are most welcome.
Looks like fun! (Though perhaps not for the Paratroopers)
ReplyDeleteJust tinkering presently but enjoying the process.
DeleteAn excellent method of simulating the chaotic first few moments on the ground.
ReplyDeleteDonald Featherstone in Wargaming Airborne Operations used to do this technique from a box or a hollowed out Airfix Dakota or Junkers model for visual effect.
That would have been interesting to see...
DeleteStill wondering about dropping canisters.
A classic method of deployment. I look forward to the rest of the battle
ReplyDeleteA wee while away but I think I am moving forward.
DeleteWe played a WWII game on Donald Featherstone's 90th birthday in which we used the classic paper square paradrop. And, of course, wore shirts and ties as a tribute to those 60s wargamer pictures from the books :)
ReplyDelete(And getting me into a tie takes something *truly* important :-D )
