The April Fool I so wished to be true…

 Do you remember this-

I so wanted it to be true…

  1. With the recent comments on my blog about the eccentric Peter Young, it’s almost believable.

Likewise the true anecdote in my blog / Facebook comments ”when Don Featherstone Met General Patton” North Africa. Wartime. Kasserine ?

Imagine if Peter Young could have met Donald Featherstone in wartime if ... if Don had opted for the commandos instead of the Tank Regiment ... as a “what if?”

Any other odd Tolkien related unlikely game pairings you would like to have seen? Donald Featherstone’s Book Of Fantasy Wargaming?

  2. Thanks for the link....not being a particularly literary sort of chap, I am sure I would have fallen for this if I had read it cold, so to speak. If Donakd Featherstine had been a sergeant in the Commandoes, his chances of surviving tge war to play midwife to the birth of modern wargaming as a hobby would have been greatly reduced! The more I hear about Peter Young, the less sure I am that I would have liked him...eccentricity is all very well but when it goes too far, it's just irritating!
