Another day at home, things moving forward on many fronts . Spent much of day doing this-
The building nearly finished, touch up bits, highlight stones on pavement and maybe front door painted. The pink after toning down a little.
The pink paint applied and drying on the radiator.
Coffee stirrers added to give a 3 d look rather than flat mdf.
The Austrian pioneers were keen to help in this project.
I didn’t have to cut the stirrers/ timber all on my own.
The initial gluing of stirrers to mdf with school glue and l am liking the look
Found the mdf building and horde of coffee stirrers. We will see how it turns out…

Splendid work on the buildings Alan. Very nice half-timbering.
ReplyDeleteCoffee stirrers are very useful - I have used them for bridges.
C S are so useful, I have used them as skis for example in the past.

Well use of coffee stirrers. I usually grab some as well as they have about the right size for my garden railway projects.
ReplyDeleteAlways worth having about…

Nice work Alan, I frequently grab a handful of stirrers from work and have used then in various "building " projects!
ReplyDeleteVery versatile they are. Thanks.

Buildings in this post and the last look great! Praying for a swift recovery of the Ducal family. We’ve been stricken with a similar yuck over here.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hope you and yours are recovering now.

Toning it down does work well.
ReplyDeleteQuite agree, has made all the difference.

This looks good and adds a lot of depth to those otherwise plain MDF buildings. Besides, seeing how those little helpers made their part, it all looks much better!
ReplyDeleteLittle helpers worked so hard. The stirrers certainly lifted the mdf.
