Self indulgence or Moleskine musings

As ever l am thoroughly entertained by a trip to Neil’s blog. This was today’s post-

https://aufklarungsabteilung.blogspot.com/search/label/ancients

It got me thinking of the notebook l have been using these past sixteen years. So self indulgently l present some pages from it.

The first entry.
A map used in some Scottish games.
The patio and plans for it.
My 18th century imaginations
Map of country layout for my flats collection.
Initial garden railway plans.
Another garden railway plan. Both never exactly happened, just a step on the journey.
The latest page with research and initial musings for an 18th Century project .

Hope you enjoyed this wee glimpse behind the scenes at the Duchy, indoors and outdoors.

  5. Splendid Alan! I particularly like the "Flats collection" map - very "Noggin the Nog"!
Thank you for the kind words.
It's odd, when I thought about posting it I assumed no-one would be interested! (apart from Jonathan ☺ and Donnie ☺).
As it is, people are more interested than I thought they would be. Do all wargamers scribble stuff down?

  6. I always enjoy looking into the sketchbooks, notebooks, and zibaldoni of artists, writers, and gamers. Thanks for the glimpse!

  7. Love this! I'm a big fan of handwritten note/sketch books and keep a daily journal of my own (though I bin my own journals as soon as the last page is filled). Now to check out Neil's post!

  8. Interesting plans! Like the idea of using floor tiles for a gridded game. Epic!
