Seeking suggestions

Any suggestions for figures (other than Schneider semi-flats) that would fit in with these chaps in terms of style and size.I am thinking of current manufacturers probably. Thanks!

  1. What size Alan?
Have you ever thought of the Shiny Toy Soldier range by Spencer Smiths... 42mm, designed by Aly Morrison. Lots of potential for imaginations, and lts of pose variety, head variants, etc in the range.

I have looked at ,and considered the STS fellows, but want a more semi flat vibe. They are super figures indeed.

The STS range may be too round to go with the semi rounds. Some times you can find the molds on ebay.

Also this Gentleman may have some information

    2. Thanks for citing my blog, Dan. The Russian plastic flats are hard to come by, more Napoleonic in any case.

The SCAD molds are out of production but can be found readily enough if you're willing to roam further afield, to French & German eBay. Berliner Zinnfiguren usually has some, other old molds too but pricey. The SCADs may be a bit too realistic for your taste though.

Also try the Spenkuch range at Berliner Zinnfiguren.

      Good hunting !

  4. I suspect that some of John Bertolini's figures would fit quite nicely. Unfortunately I do not have a website marked for him, but I believe that Ross Macfarlane has some of his figures (he is the gameofmonth guy).

  5. Whoops--I was going to suggest RCW paper soldiers, as I thought the figures in your pictures were outright flats, and their style seemed to fit right in. Awhile back I found a Russian blog that had hundreds--literally hundreds--of them, in various scales, mostly large. I can't find my link anymore, but they popped up when I did an image search for "Russian paper soldiers".

Oh well, they aren't what you're looking for, but case you ever get the RCW itch...
