This morning I walked to the local sorting office to collect a parcel I had missed on Christmas Eve. It was a recent ebay purchase. Upon return I opened the outer packaging to reveal a charming little box-
Anyone read German and tell me what it says?
The whole box is covered in this design-
Inside I found some figures and scenery for my 40mm Counterpania project-
I am very pleased with these indeed :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Candlestick according to my translator.
ReplyDeleteA candlestick being a type of cow only 40mm in its maximum direction or possibly a device for holding candles?
ps I love the dachshund!
DeleteThey are a very nice find and will I'm sure enhance Counterpania greatly , Tony
ReplyDeleteNot a clue, Alan, but the box is charming and the livestock is wonderful indeed. I was just thinking about cows and horses for my Middle Earth project, something for the orcs to raid. However, these look a little big!
ReplyDeleteBest,
M
I recognize the cows and the farm girl. They are from one of the old German semi-flat home casting molds; one of our club members has a copy, so we have a few of those too.
