On the workbench Vendel Miniatures

I read that ,the other day, Vendel Miniatures (recently called Bloody Day) are no longer available. I am saddened to hear that for l felt the figures were full of character and charm. When they were no longer available here in the uk l sent over to America to get some , l wish l had bought more...

Here are two giants with fantastic haircuts , wonderful shoes, patched tunics and business like clubs. They remind of the artwork of Pauline Baynes and the Mythical Earth giants by Minifigs. I am working on wood elves and goblins too. The heavily armoured dwarfs were an ebay bargain which arrived today. They look like they mean business. I do hope one day that Vendel Miniatures will be available once more even if the mounds were getting old.

  1. If you are looking for more dwarf models, I recommend those from Conqueror:

I am not certain but the sculptor might be the same fellow that worked with Vendel. Some of the Conqueror dwarf figures are at my table waiting for paint, and they look superb.

  2. What a shame! Those are wonderful figures.
Looks like the Dwarves are running away and who can blame them.

    1. They were bought by T&R Miniatures who bought the 15mm Thistle and Rose line quite a while back. They haven't yet got a website or started trading and I don't expect them to be up and running until Next year until the very earliest as I don't think they are doing this full time.

  4. Hi Alan:
It is terrific to see your painting. Love those hill giants with their bowl haircuts! Mike is right, the Vendel line appears to have been purchased by Thistle and Rose. They don't appear to have a website, but T&R does have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TandRMiniatures/ The page suggests that it may be a while before the Vendel Fantasy figures come back online, but it is good to know they are not lost to us.
    Best, Michael
