Took the opportunity today after the rain to set up these figures on the rockery. They are 40mm Semi Flats. I took the photos to show the size of the new rockery, to see what the gaming potentially of it was and just for fun. I do like the look and feel that it might provide a place to try some outdoor gaming. Anyway here are the photos-
Those figures have a lovely, classic-style look about them.
ReplyDeleteA great toy soldier look which appeals to me greatly.
DeleteGood to see these figures outdoors on the mountains and rocky foothills.
ReplyDeleteThey are glad I am sure to be out of their winter quarters ( plastic storage barracks in Shedtown) and on the march once more...
DeleteVery nice indeed! Shades of Rob Roy?
ReplyDeleteI started some 40mm 1719 Highlanders during lockdown one but I cannot find them. It is very annoying as I feel this is exactly the terrain they would feel at home in. A great rummage in Shedtown is called for...
DeleteReally great photos, Alan.
ReplyDeleteRonnie
Thank you. Over the alpine grit and far away...
DeleteExcellent atmospheric photos - toy soldiers look good in a garden setting .
ReplyDeleteQuite agree. If only our uk weather was a tad more supportive...
DeleteYou’ve seen Ross Macfarlane’s recent outdoor games? (E.g. https://gameofmonth.blogspot.com/2021/06/ambush-at-whites-farm.html). It would give a nice H.G. Wells feel, especially if you have a straw boater to wear. :D
ReplyDeleteHis game looked great. Wish I had a straw boater...
DeleteIt certainly looks like a likely battlefield for skirmishers. I could esp. see the 20thC inter-war figures being right in their element.
ReplyDeleteLots of possibilities to explore...
DeleteLooks great, lots of potential fo gaming with the larger 40mm+ figures
ReplyDeleteSets your splendid figures off really well I think...
DeleteAlan, those British grenadiers look excellent!
ReplyDeleteMichael
Thanks, my favourite unit.
DeleteVery nice! Both the rock garden and the minis in it. Seems like it would also be good for Colonial games or adventure games (pulp).
ReplyDeleteNow these are excellent ideas well worth a think about...
DeleteLovely figures and they do look at home in the garden!
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
