Let me tell you what is wrong with the world, I use it as a dumping ground! Let me explain, my Theatrum Mundi, my wee gaming place has become neglected. It has become a place to dump correspondence needing attention, books I am reading and a place where l just lay stuff down on! Plans are afoot to remedy this situation and to make the space available to have a solo game on which can be kept up a number of days. Thus allowing me to enjoy the look of the thing, plan my next move and return to the situation as it was before with a rolling programme of games going on. Here it is this morning, hopefully to be sorted in the coming days.
I have had the same problem Alan. Everything seems to pile up on my table and sits for an extended period. But there is a true feeling of accomplishment when we can finally clear it off and get back to what we really want to be doing! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI’m pleased I am not the only one.
DeleteOne of Murphys laws states that any vacant flat surface becomes a magnet for things en route to their proper home. Only partial answer I've found is to keep it full of games either set up, in progress or awaiting clearing for the next.
ReplyDelete"What he wrote."
DeleteSo that’s where I went wrong, sounds a plan.
DeleteGet it cleared, Alan. I miss the photos of your games.
ReplyDeleteRonnie
Will do, currently working on it!
DeleteHmmm Yes- Alan I've a similar problem with empty cardboard boxes taking up my Games Table - will have to have a special disposable day and put the folded down boxes into the Recycle Bin. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteActually l am organised with recycling but not the wargames table.
DeleteHeh. Good luck. I've had the same problem with my computer table, where I do hobby things whilst watching movies or listening to audio-books. Enough things are piled up that nothing else can be laid down.
ReplyDeletePart of the reason is that the more junk on the table, the less likely the cats will try to walk on it, stepping on the keyboard and stealing minis.
Buy more pike armed figures, the cat will take one look and run away.
DeleteI am still trying to find the perfect table size/figure scale to make a perfect table in a corner that I can leave in position and not use for storage..
ReplyDeleteI used to have a folding green baize card table that worked well. Perfect size too.
Delete... but with diddly figures?
DeleteFlat surfaces attract clutter !
ReplyDeleteYou canny change the laws of physics!
DeleteMy gaming table gets stuff dumped on it as well, mostly work in progress projects.
ReplyDeleteCurse of the modelling classes l fear.
DeleteWhat they said ...
ReplyDeleteWhat I replied.
DeleteLooks I am in good company here! ha ha
ReplyDelete(I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many desks, tables, and tops of shelving units I have that are cluttered with stuff "in progress")
I like your thinking, Jennifer, about the cats. ha ha
I am sure stuff reproduces by splitting in two and colonising our spaces!
DeleteI hang my wargame board up. There is no way anyone can put anything on them!
ReplyDeleteAn elegant solution.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I have always wanted to be referred to as elegant.
DeleteMy wargaming gear got buried with some reorganization. I put it in a safe place to protect it from getting broken, and now it’s trapped!
