When I was gaming the other week with Ronnie C I was most taken with the basing method he used. So l decided to copy it myself. First stick Mdf bases onto felt, cut out when dry and attach figures. I wasn’t patient enough to wait until my Auld Reekie Rabble were finished so laid them out on the bases I had prepared earlier. I was pleased with the look, simple, clean lines and elegant.
I like that basing a lot, may well borrow it!

DeleteHadn't thought of felt! The MDF bases I've been experimenting with have a ready-made pattern on them. How do you stick the minis to the felt?
ReplyDeleteMe neither. I use wood glue or white school glue though wood glue is stronger. What do you use Ronnie?

DeleteOne of those “why didn’t I think of that?” moments. Of course applying shredded fragments (is that right?) from the material to the actual figure base would also make the effect even more seamless. Well done.

DeleteThis is great! I haven’t flocked the bases I have yet, and even my wife (who giggles, tolerantly, at my hobby) asks when I’m going to flock them. This would save time and money to accomplish that task!
ReplyDeleteI use flock and scatter grass too but feel that clean , simple lines may be the way forward for many of my collections.
