We are so lucky having these fantastic gardens in Edinburgh- Know as the Botanics. I have been coming here all my life. It is a special place which seems infinitely bigger than its actual size. Monday saw a birthday picnic there and my first visit since Covid began. The sun shone.
Indeed a wonderful place, Alan, and even during the hours of darkness I've seen an amazing light show there.
ReplyDeleteAnd it would appear that belated happy birthday wishes are in order! So pleased that you managed to get out and have a super day.
Ronnie
I’ve seen pictures of the light show but never been. It was my youngest’s birthday but the day was slightly diminished by my eldest no5 being well enough to go.
DeleteMy most favourite Uncle was head gardener in the Botanics. There was nothing he didn't know about orchids. Sadly he's gone now.
ReplyDeleteI bet he was a fascinating man to talk to. A lovely place to work.
DeleteHis war service stories made great listening although a bit gory. He served in the RAF at sea on Air Sea Rescue launches. Patrolled the beaches in Normandy and spent a long time just picking bodies out the water.
DeleteI can imagine Jim, what a task to have to do.so vital yet so stressful.
DeleteBreathtaking landscapes Alan! Truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, we are so fortunate to have this in Edinburgh.
DeleteWhat a wonderful space! It looks and sounds like a glorious day.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
A truly magical space.
DeleteLovely looking place. Glad the sun shone for you. Hope you managed to keep a cactus width apart!
ReplyDeleteI managed to without being too prickly about it.
DeleteA lovely place. We're lucky enough to have a botanical garden in this city, and it's always a pleasure to walk through it.
ReplyDeleteGreat gardens really lift the spirit.

ReplyDeleteWell worth a visit.
DeleteWhat a wonderful place! Great pics! Glad to see distancing is being enforced. ha ha
ReplyDeleteA fun a memorable way to get the message across.
DeleteThat is a blast from the past for me, haven't been there in years, some lovely photos there.
ReplyDeleteWell worth a revisit!
DeleteUsed to enjoy taking my son there. Often spoiled by grumpy parkies though.
