Found these eight figures in identical uniforms today. Looking for ideas for what they could represent on the tabletop ? Possibly Landwehr or Landstrumm? All suggestions welcome.
Army Blue or Army Light Blue, not sure yet…
Looked out this book below for inspiration-
Well over to you - what unit are they and what is their uniform?
Will you repair the broken rifles?
ReplyDeleteTo me, they seem to have a vaguely Russian look - see Irregular Minatures 42mm Balkan Wars - attempt to copy and paste exact page just goes to https://irregularminiatures.co.uk/ !

I have a small handful more of these kneeling figures from my last casting session if you want.
ReplyDeleteMost kind I would be interested. I did wonder if they might work as Duchy of Volare Cantare border troops, what do you think?

To me look like some kind of paramilitary force in an Iberian or Latin American country. Assaltos, border guards or police.
ReplyDeleteChris/Nundanket
Very colourful uniform idea and background information.

Wonder if they might stretch it a bit to Italianate border troops, police…
ReplyDeleteVolare Cantare comes to mind, especially on these dull , chilly summer mornings.

DeleteVolare Cantare has a nice national anthem by the way. Very cheerful. Not very martial though.
He does look the part! The national Anthem is splendid isn’t it, cheerful indeed and sooo cool. Like the Duchy itself. Not a terribly martial place but they dress well and live the good life , but not in the Surbiton sense.

Kadetten der Weilerwache (cadets of the hamlet/village watch). Organized as a volunteer force, this specific unit’s uniforms reflect a more Baltic tone due to their hailing from a border state to the southeast. Their light blue blouse with dark blue trousers and stamped metal buttons are modest, so that their small amount funds may go toward rifles and ammunition. A few of the wealthier men wear small phylactery charms around their necks, that contain a single silver bullet, from the tales they grew with as children, and their proximity to the mountains and forests of Bohemia.
ReplyDeleteA most interesting unit with a fascinating background.Well worth considering for these lead fellows
