A excellent read after a busy day’s volunteering, just the thing with a coffee. Highly recommended btw.
I didn't know there were Compendia for this. Does each issue make previous versions redundant or build on the system? I'm not sure what they're offering as I've never had/used ane of the OHW rules. Nice Advent calendar - very traditional in appearance. It's a lovely idea in some ways and odd in another - you take a beautiful picture and gradually destroy it for little ones. There's been a bit of a debate this year about young people trying to work out why the little pictures were exciting when now its chocolates, toys, gin or perhaps small pets behind the windows. The last may be an exaggeration. Stephen
The compendia have article related to THE PORTABLE WARGAME, which is not the same as OHW. It is a separate game system and the compendia includes rules variants, related battle reports, campaign systems etc. this one also contains some article related to the ‘DOMINIUM OF …’ rules.
As the editor, I’d recommend looking at the preview pages that are available to view on Amazon and Wargame Vault … but, I would , wouldn’t I!
Glad that you’re enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteI’m still waiting for my copies … as authors go to the back of the list when orders are placed!
All the best,
Bob
Downloaded my pdf of PWC4 but haven't had time to read it yet - hopefully this weekend! Lovely traditional Advent Calendar.
