We had a lovely Christmas Day. Here are what the Croats/Santa/family gave me.
A much needed garden spade to replace the one I broke, some splendid looking shirts, a model railway building kit, a book on foraging, a Medieval history book and an annual. Thoughtful gifts with so much potential for the coming weeks and months, I was most fortunate. I intend to have a quiet day here in the Duchy having been out most of yesterday. Have a good day everyone, enjoy family, presents and planning...
Glad you had such a good Christmas day, and what a wonderful haul of presents. Have a peaceful day today.

ReplyDeleteTradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteA great set of interesting (and somewhat eclectic) presents.
Have a great Boxing Day!
All the best,
Bob
PS. How do you break a spade? It must have been a very hard bit of ground to do that!
Bob, I broke the metal part of my old spade using it as a leaver in some misguided project l can’t quite recall. The new one has a wee label on it saying it has a breaking strain of 100kg, which should be more than enough. The Bruges book pertains to my art history courses and the foraging one is by a chap who I always enjoyed watching on the River Cottage programmes of H F-W on channel four.
DeleteHappy feast of Stephen!

And also with you and yours.
DeleteA fine spade and a book on an essential military skill - foraging and living off the land. You will of course need to wear a forage cap before undertaking this! Enjoy these splendid presents.
ReplyDeleteI feel I have done very well.
