The first of my daughters got married today, a glorious day. Time flies . As for the song in the last post here is a comment on it-
The song draws itself out to its fullest extent, musing on the end of a day’s play and a lifetime’s play simultaneously, letting these go only slowly and reluctantly, just as we let ourselves go only slowly, the eyes and the light fading together, the best gone everywhere except in our memories. The song takes us back into the past, a past once experienced but now gone, a past we would give anything to be able to re-enter, whenever we want or need

ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Alan. Time certainly does fly! We have not had a wedding yet but our 27 year old daughter owns half a house with her partner and our 24 year old son just moved into a small rental house with his girlfriend, so a wedding could be on the cards .....or not, these days 💕

Hopefully more happy memories have been added in the last few days. I'd not heard the song before so thanks for introducing it. It's particularly poignant today as a great friend of 40 odd years has passed away.
