Fearful Engine

I ordered this recently from Alternative Armies and it was waiting for me when I returned yesterday. A quick paint job and it is ready for action in renaissance games. Having decided that the 28mm tanks were too big l am pleased with this 15mm one. I feel it works well with the Minifigs inspite of it being a smaller scale .I wonder if smaller scale artillery might work too...

16th century Tradgardland

I have a few more figures but if anyone has any unwanted S range renaissance figures for sale please let me know.

Carronade

Just back from the Falkirk show. I saw some splendid games especially ACW and ECW ones. We had a good chat with the chap running the Vbcw game with lots of aircraft and Nissen huts. I particularly enjoyed talking to the friendly fellows at the Westerhope Wargamers game and watching their El CID game with loads of figures and lovely boats. They’re always a tonic to talk to. Here are my purchases-

My longtime opponent bought the starter set for Gangs of Rome and l will buy in at the stage when the urban cohorts and night watch are released. I felt numbers attending the show were up from last year and it was great to see families, women and children in greater numbers. A positive note for the hobby.

Whilst waiting for the bbq to take...

A quick look at the painting bureau. A 28mm gardener figure carries a heavy sack of tulip bulbs ready to plant, some statues with plinths made of cotton reels and an ornamental pond made of modelling clay. Above out of shot are some S range cavaliers and to the left (also out of shot) are medieval Scots l have had for years awaiting becoming ready for Lion Rampant. Some reference material to be used to create a foam board building. That’s about it ,off to catch what is left of the sun.

Gardens

The Duke of Tradgardland is walking in his topiary garden when he encounters Father Lacey-Cotta who is staying nearby. The gentlemen exchange pleasantries and converse briefly upon the bosco nearby. Strange music has been heard in the trees at dusk.

S Club 5 again

Finally succumbed to buying the app and here is my first post with it.
The first photo is of some of the 16th century figures and the second is the one l failed to put in the previous post. Can you tell me if they are indeed S range Minifigs? Thanks.

S Club 5?

I have recently bought some old Minifigs which I am led to believe were painted in the 1970s . Their slender shape and simple painting style greatly appeal to me. Whenever l buy painted figures l tend to leave the paint job alone especially if it is pleasing like these ones. Sentiment influences me as I like the fact that the artistry of another individual (unknown to to me) lives on in my armies. I have another contingent coming which will give me two ecw sides of reasonable size. I imagine these figures to be S range and will continue to look out for others to add to this project and my 16th century one too. As a postscript after much frustration with myself I finally managed to add the photo. Hopefully this means my posting can continue via the iPad until I buy a new pc.

Bother!

Computer and email problems here in the Duchy of Tradgardland. Can't upload photos etc. Not even the Guild of St Hermes can help. Normal service resumed sooner rather than later I hope!
