Ripe for conversion 2

Although shorter and less elongated my favourites are the Lone Star ones-
They have a lot of character about them compared to the Crescent ones such as the expressions on their faces and an intent in their marching, elite indeed.
I will probably leave them be and use as Guardsmen. The Crescent fellows will get replacement heads and be used as line infantrymen. The bandsmen are charming but not quite sure what to do with them. Any suggestions?

Ripe for conversion...

These chaps arrived this morning. I got them to covert for A Gentleman’s War. Here they are -

Now unpacked and on parade. They are mainly Lone Star and Crescent.

A really interesting post

The Man of Tin ( whose blogs can be relied upon to provide entertainment and inspiration) has a most interesting post today-

It is really well worth a look if you haven’t seen it yet.

Basing

l am sorting out my syw figures and rebasing/ reorganising them. I popped them out on the kitchen table to get a flavour of where I am going with them. One force is Austro Hungarian and the other Reichsarmee.

Mr soft and friends...

I really like the look of these Sumerian chaps but they are so soft . Perhaps rubbery would be more accurate. I have dealt with soft plastic figures before but these are a different matter. I have undercoated in white glue. We will see how they hold paint...

OS ECW

Set up a wee game-

It is on a former planting bench from Aldi ( 38 x 19 inches) residing indoors. Here are the respective forces - Royalists defend the village with cavalry, dragoons and hastily raised villagers.

Outdoors

I am enjoying sitting out in the garden today. Yesterday the grass got the first cut of the season. Today l am sitting out listening to the wireless and enjoying these two new arrivals-

I have worked for some time on my 28mm Medieval Germans and have laid them aside for the present. I need a wee change. My 40mm fellows will get an outing to try the new rules out.
