Fifty Four mm Featherstone Fallschrimjager Fight

As l had some time over the weekend I set up a game. Here are the rules used and what all buildings were made from-

The start of the game-

The German paratroopers enter the village past the church…
A view over the village showing the hedges and gardens.
The Home Guard enter the village from the opposite side. Some Scouts are with them to act as messengers when required.
The German commander takes up position on the church tower for observation purposes.
Pike and Jones watch what is happening prior to sending a message back to HQ.

The Germans advance into the village…

Fierce fighting ensues both fire fights and hand to hand.

After a time the Germans retreat, perhaps to return another day…

  11. Typical shabby Nazi trick to invade during May Day revels when the Home Guard were busy with their Maypole and Morris dancing ... were the Fallschirmjager disguised [Went the Day Well? Eagle has Landed style] as a visiting Morris side, when you expected them dressed as hairy ankled Nuns ...
Classic rules, charming terrain and classic combination of Hollowcast and plastic figures.

    1. Thank you.
I did think of using some British figures as disguised Germans but thought I might get confused if I did so. An idea certainly for another time.

    2. I found this same confusion with the end of Went The Day Well? that the (plot spoiler alert!) disguised Germans, Home Guard and Regulars (loaned from The Gloucester Regiment) fighting all confusingly look the same. Something that was solved in The Eagle Has Landed by Michael Caine’s German paratroopers taking off their Polish British uniforms and fighting in their German paratroop uniforms.

  12. Great game, inspiring stuff. Did the bees play a role? Rules for swarming please.

  13. I have an attachment to this Britains bee hive from my youth. Bee swarming would certainly be a great idea for another time. If I do l will let you know what rule I come up with. It will probably be as simple as possible, l warn you.

  14. It looks like a fun game. When I was first involved in war gaming, it seemed that rules needed to be complex. How wrong I was!
