Reading
Warm enough to read outdoors this afternoon which was most pleasant indeed.
Interesting. I've read the Australian official history of the campaign, and Bill Slim had interesting things to say too in his "Unofficial History." Might check it out.
I have this new Helion book on British Mounted Cavalry Syria 1941 on order, I wonder if they overlap? https://www.helion.co.uk/military-history-books/fighting-vichy-from-horseback-british-mounted-cavalry-in-action-syria-1941.php
This is not some reading that I expect will morph into a game / scenario but for those who are interested there are EWM 20mm figures for the Vichy https://earlywarminiatures.com/product-category/early-war-1939-1942/vichy-french-colonial-troops/
Now that is an interesting little period and place!
ReplyDeleteCertainly is, niche but fascinating .Alan Tradgardland

DeleteA nice occupation but neither book tempts me.

A good way to pass a few hours. Until I opened the post I wasn't sure if the title referred to the activity or a visit to the Berkshire town!
