Any giants out there?
I am trying to get hold of this Minifigs Mythical Earth giant .Can anyone help?
I'm not sure. I think that I have a giant that is at least somewhat similar . . . he's painted (with enamels, I think) and something I picked up like that at some point.
I'll try to find it sometime in the next few days and see if it is the same.
He's not all that "giant" a giant. I found mine and he's about 45mm from base to top of his head (38mm to eyes).
I'll try to get a photo of him to you by email, Alan, so you can see the lousy paint job someone gave him (green shirt, blue pants, red socks, yellow hair and very pale "skin").
Many apologies-out of context I forgot! They are on the work table and progressing.I've hit this "Oh should I rebase them singly rather tah in groups "thingie again and can't quite think where to proceed with it...
There is indeed a Narnian feel to him ( perhaps why I like him so much) like something from a Pauline Baynes illustration. My room had many of her maps and illustrations on the wall as a teenager.
These sort of vintage fantasy minis do crop up every so often on Ebay (usually in the toys/role-playing section. Unfortunately, they're quite collectable and therefore usually not cheap :-(
*BEEP BEEP* - An update - Searching Ebay today generally for fantasy type minis, I found that there's one of these giants listed at the moment (usual disclaimer; I don't know the seller etc...)

I recall the smelly enamel days so well.
DeleteWhat an absolutely marvellous figure! Alan, if you source more than one, can I have one too?
ReplyDeleteIf I have any luck you are first in the queue.
DeleteI had four or five of them when I was sixteen or so,sadly long since gone.

ReplyDeleteI've got many figures through ebay and not too pricey actually.I avoid the excessively priced ones.
