Dettol- the result...

Having soaked in Dettol since Friday l got the figures out of the jar-

The Dettol has worked wonders on them. I cleaned them next with washing up liquid, neat as per instructions. I am delighted and would certainly do this again. Have a look back at a few posts ago and see the GIs prior to the soaking. The figures that had not worked with paint stripper previously are clean thanks to Dettol too.I am free to appear in commercials for a suitable remuneration.

  1. could you please explain about the washing up liquid bit? I like using Dettol but I find if I get water on the Dettol/paint gunge it all sets hard again so I am cleaning off with toothbrush and kitchen paper. I have some old Tradition figures sitting in a jar as we speak

    Thanks#

  2. John I used neat washing up liquid to clean the last bits of paint off using a tooth brush.Does that help?

  5. These have scrubbed up well. The two leggy figures on the left look like (I think) Wellington Toy Soldiers, marked WTC on their messy bases. They were apparently sold or included as cheapish target figures for a range of guns in the 1920s. I have a small half dozen squad of these being painted up as female infantry Imagi-Nation troops as they have a shapely or buxom long leggy look.
