Napoleonics

I mentioned my recent purchase of some Napoleonic figures and Michael asked to see them. So here they are:

They are as they arrived minus the packaging. They will be an excellent opponent for my Swedes and l am sure l will conjure up some back story, possibly commencing with Sir John Moores expedition to aid the Swedish. In my world things went even worse than in reality...

Now all l need do is sit tight and wait for the Napoleonic Portable Wargame coming in a few months.

    2. I am constantly amazed by British people who would otherwise be regarded as sane and intelligent individuals who cannot tell a correct Union flag from an incorrect one.

There are lots of YouTube clips on the details but principally the diagonal crosses are made up with both a red stripe and a white stripe bordered with a further pair of thin white stripes. This makes the red stripe look off centre.

The Union flags on your new collection have the red diagonals centred and lined in white which is close but still incorrect.

Don't worry too much about it. I have seen incorrect Union flags on units purported to have been done by the Perry twins.

    3. Thanks for enlightening me. Can you suggest a source of correct printed flags Jim? At least i am in good company with the Perry Twins.
p.s I am not sure I am sane or intelligent these days

I would just touch up your existings flags. Paint over the red diagonals in white then repaint the red diagonal slightly off centre.

Make sure the quarters nearest the pole have the red diagonal below the white diagonal and above the white diagonal on the fly quarters.

I know it sounds complicated but it is actually very simple.
