Name suggestions please

I am looking for suggestions for a Sweden like imagination of 1807. All I have come up with is Midsommer Duchy. I am sure you will have far more interesting ideas...

  1. I found a wiki page on the Provinces of sweden : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinces_of_Sweden
I wonder if you might take inspiration from those, perhaps invent one or two new ones? 'Scania' seems useful too, perhaps? Also the 'four lands' look interesting - 'Svealand' sounds fun..

  2. Tradgardmastare,

Like David in Suffolk, I looked at the entomology of the country’s name, and came to a similar conclusion. The Duchy of Scania or Scanmark, for example.

    All the best,

    Bob

  3. Hello there tradgardmastare,

The Duchy of Bjornagen or possibly that of Abbaholm.

    All the best,

    DC

  4. How about Svenland as a sort of jokey name? Or slightly more obscure, Ruotsi which actually means ‘Sweden’ in Finnish. It doesn’t look Scandinavian mind.

    1. Or Hemland (homeland in Swedish). Some countries names originate in similar fashion.

  5. 'Nil-Points', no, sorry that was Norway.

  6. Midsommer Duchy sounds the sort of place where there are always murders being committed!

  7. Perhaps Cardamalm or Semlaholm.

  8. Maybe some cheesy inspiration here: https://www.tasteatlas.com/most-popular-cheeses-in-sweden

I think it might be funny if the name had some of those letters with diacritical marks. But then you'd have to type them whenever you need to write the name.
