Been soaking some semi flats in Dettol to remove the paint. Yesterday I scrubbed them ready for repainting. The majority are marching, standing and kneeling figures. Some are slightly different and I do not know their provenance. Anyone recognise them?
I like the odd ones out, nicely animated. International Flat Figure Society for ID? Homecasting Facebook group?
ReplyDeleteI did, we will see if any identification is forthcoming...
DeleteThe sort of thing you need to do outside , that Dettol smell is very invasive .
ReplyDeleteTried it in the bathroom sink last week with windows open , still too much. The gloves are a must too.
DeleteI use a sealed margarine tub for the soaking phase and keep it in the garden hut. Then clean up as much as possible before dunked under the kitchen tap.
DeleteI seal mine in a screw top glass jar normally which lives in the shed out of harms way.
DeleteThey look ready to go, a very thorough paint stripping job indeed! Well done!
ReplyDeleteDettol is most effective, if smelly.
DeleteVery nice figures - 19th-century style? You have the base of a good unit there.
ReplyDeleteThanks, they are interesting uniforms, full of potential...
