Street Art and reading some rules

Here are some pictures of art locally. I saw it on my weekly trip uptown. Been reading these rules properly for the first time today having had the book on the shelf for some years now. Any comments on your experience of them most welcome.

  1. There is a very good Facebook page for them and lots of variations.
Some interesting stuff around solo play and changing the 15 hits system for easier recording without skewing the results. 'More Chaos' the latter is called.

  2. OHW are much more subtle than they appear on first reading them. I remember being slightly disappointed halfway through my first game as I felt I was losing and couldn't do anything about it and the game was too simple. Then it started to click and I managed to turn the game around and win.

  3. Well, you know I'm a fan of the OHW rules. Just the thing for a oldie, I prefer the straightforward approach that just lets one get on with the fun.

  4. They are very very simple... but.. they are very very playable, and eminently tinker'able...

  5. Interesting street art - and a lot nicer than looking at whitewashed or newspapered windows and boarded up store fronts. Hopefully one day those small shops will return.

  6. Mike is spot on re OHW. They may be simple mechanisms but are indeed far more subtle than first appears. Try playing the same scenario with the rules from different chapters of the book and you will get a very different game for each period.
