Possibly the best TYW book in the world
I bought this book June 1982 . I recall coming home from an evening out and finding it having been delivered by the postman. It has been in my library ever since and I still refer to it . A visual delight and full of fascinating information.
I have a facsimile paperback copy which is getting a bit tired now; ideally I would like a hardback; some possible ones found on Bookfinder in the £65+ range https://www.bookfinder.com/search/?author=wagner&title=european+weapons+and+warfare&lang=any&isbn=&destination=gb¤cy=GBP&mode=basic&st=sr&ac=qr
Sad to say I've never heard of it , just noticed there is a new paperbacked version on Amazon though .
ReplyDeleteWell, worth getting hold of it. I really think that you will enjoy it greatly.
DeleteAn excellent book of ideas ...
ReplyDeleteOne of the best books I ever bought, so full of inspiration.
DeleteYup. Picked up a copy at a clearance table decades ago. Great reference or way of passing time.
ReplyDeleteQuite agree!
DeleteI'd keep hold of it.. Amazon has one in good condition delivered for £860+! :o))
ReplyDeleteFascinating but I wouldn’t part with it for love nor money.
DeleteA lovely book, a must for TYW reference.

I'll see how much I have in my piggy bank :)
Well raiding the piggy bank imho!
DeleteYep, I have a hardback version I bought long ago, too. Full of all sorts of details and info.
ReplyDeleteWish there was a similar on for the 18th Century too.
DeleteLove this book, mine was obtained over 20 years ago at a bring and buy in Edinburgh, I thought Id won the lottery.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent Bring and Buy find if ever there was one.
DeleteA wonderful book. I was delighted to find a cheap copy a few years ago after looking for ages.
ReplyDeleteWish there was a similar one for different periods...
