The Warbases arrived today-
I chose 60 x 40 mm and 60 x 30 mm, round cornered and two bases stuck together for height and ease of lifting. I took some photos to try out different numbers of figures on different base sizes-
Three figures on 60x 30
Four figures on 60 x30
Three front facing figures on 60 x 40.
Four figures ( room for five) front facing on 60x 40mm
Five figures on 60x40.
Five figures on 60x30
Finally four “animated” figures on 60 x 30.
So that’s where I am tonight, much to ponder on . As ever I welcome your comments positive and negative.
I like 3 on the 60x40. Will give you more bases and the figures aren't too crammed.
ReplyDeleteHello Alan, love the idea of thick bases for ease of handling. Rounded corners look fabulous. Regarding how many figures to add per base it ultimately depends on your own wargame preferences and how many miniatures you have or would want on the tabletop. Best wishes - Quinn

ReplyDeleteThose bases look good. I think I would tend towards fewer figures on a base, not too crowded. But could vary it - more figures if portraying a close-order shield wall, fewer for skirmish order?

Is there much protection for the thin projecting parts of these animated models both in use and storage? But it would take an enormous base to provide it. Just my penny's worth.

my preference would be for more, something flats allow far better than rounded. it may come down to how many figures / stands you have, if you have lots of figures crowding them means you can wargame with more toy soldiers on the table for a dark ages clash. less and you wont get all the stands on the table! great problem to have, Richard
